For a Reluctant Gardener

senryu

Gardening is not

my thing. I prefer to tend

the fruits of my loins.

‘I’ll do the garden,’

he promised me, ‘but only

when that pig flies by.’

My neighbour’s garden

undisturbed by any child

while mine bursts with life.

‘Mummy! A flower

for you!’ She said. Love alive

in flower, now dead.

When I win millions

I’ll get a man in. He might

do the garden too!
